Whether you are a seasoned therapy client, a newcomer who has decided to pursue counseling for the first time, or simply someone curious about whether counseling is right for you, I welcome you to my private practice! I serve the ARK-LA-TEX area with exceptional quality counseling services to private pay clients. My private practice accepts a limited number of clients as it is a part-time business. Unfortunately, I am not always accepting new clients. It really just depends on my clinical workload at the time.
I DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE: Third party payers (Health Insurance Companies and Public Programs) compromise a client’s privacy by requiring a great deal of personal information about the client in order for them to pay; insurance companies impose rigid, limited unrealistic treatment options; allow a very limited amount of mental health care visits per year; and demand/REQUIRE a mental disorder diagnosis in order for them to pay for treatment; Health insurance companies decide for the client what kind of treatment the client should get, and when treatment should conclude, regardless of the feelings of the client or the professional opinion and clinical expertise of the mental healthcare professional providing the treatment. Health Insurance companies base these decisions on the desire for profit, not the best interest of the client.
I do adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards for privacy of individually identifiable health information, outlined patients’ rights and established criteria for access to health records. I take great care by upholding the strictest standards concerning privacy to protect my client’s confidentiality as mandated by law and the code of ethics governing my profession. Protecting your privacy and confidentiality is extremely important to me and an integral part of establishing a working relationship and mutual trust. My privacy policy is especially strict, particularly to accommodate clients who consider themselves high profile, individuals with security clearances, or other issues for which anonymity is crucial. Regardless of your situation, I take your privacy very seriously. My self-pay clients are not bound by the demands of the insurance company. Together with the client, I create a treatment that makes sense for the client’s unique needs—not their insurance plan. I always keep in mind that my primary duty is to the client, not to insurance companies.
Life is inevitably full of unique challenges for every person in every stage of life. I understand that individual problems, big or small, can have an enormous impact on everyday life. I treat all issues with the utmost respect and attention. It’s not always easy to discuss your problems with friends and family, but you shouldn’t have to try to solve them alone. Whether you’re struggling with depression, life transitions, or are perhaps feeling unfulfilled, in life or work, therapy can help. I believe the key to successful therapy is a therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client that is warm, trusting, non-judgmental and one in which the client feels seen and heard. I do not think I know my clients better than they know themselves but rather, I frequently draw upon my clients’ own insights, experiences and strengths in therapy. It is through collaborative and active conversations that clients achieve a deeper understanding of themselves, their thoughts and behaviors, which in turn paves the way for growth and improvement. Counseling helps you stay healthy, balanced, and productive.
Counseling isn’t just for those who are hurting, but anyone can benefit from an ongoing therapeutic relationship with a counselor. In fact, many of my clients are successful individuals and couples who know, as I do, that everyone has the potential to grow—to thrive. When clients come to me for professional counseling, I strive to provide them with the skills and tools necessary for making (and maintaining) significant life changes. My clients tend to experience a positive difference in their moods, affects, lives, and relationships. In addition, many of my clients find that ongoing counseling helps them achieve new goals and reach new highs for their personal and professional lives.
Private and Relaxing Environment – I do everything I can to make your experience a positive one. My office is beautiful and comfortable. You may request side door entrance for increased privacy and comfort. I also play soothing spa music, provide comfortable seating, and offer refreshments (at no additional cost to my clients). I schedule appointments 20+ minutes apart, to further ensure privacy by not having clients spend a lot of time waiting outside of my office.
Conveniently located office: 1001 Texas Blvd. Texarkana, TX
Free and Convenient Parking– there is ample parking on site in the parking lot. However, for additional privacy, some clients choose to park at any of the public establishments or public parking nearby and walk over.

Priority Telephone Call-back: If your counselor is in session or unavailable, you can expect a call back as soon as I am available (even during evening hours). If you have an urgent need and you are an established client, special arrangements may be made for urgent appointments during nonscheduled business hours for established clients only.
Between Sessions Phone Calls Permitted - If you feel there is an urgent need to talk to me between sessions, please call me at (903)329-1655. There is no charge for phone calls shorter than 10 minutes. If the call is longer than that, the call will be prorated based on your regular psychotherapy fee.
Convenient Hours of Operation - extended hours of operation, weekend appointments, and some holiday appointments available.
Same-Day Service – If you are experiencing an immediate need to be seen by your counselor, your counselor will find a same-day appointment time for you. This may not ALWAYS work out but for established clients, I will try to make arrangements to meet with you.
Session Length Grace - if you have been in counseling, you know that discussions do not always fit within the allotted 60 minute session time. I hate to be watching the clock as much as you do! I will provide occasional grace time during sessions when extra time is needed to finish a discussion. *Additional fees may apply depending on the additional time needed (prorated based on your regular counseling fee).
Confidentiality and Privacy is paramount in every capacity as it relates to you and your treatment.
