This is a weekly free event open to the community promoting wellness through Jesus while combining art & creativity for healing and self-care. These sessions may be as structured or unstructured as needed. The group will start with a brief weekly devotion and prayer. Then, participants will create artwork of their own individual choosing (with their own supplies), while listening to positive, encouraging K-Love. It’s a great opportunity for fellowship and enjoying creative activities that may provide both mental and physical benefits.
Please bring portable art supplies (you don’t have to bring the finest of materials to participate in this group). Material should be lightweight, and fit neatly into a backpack, carry-on bag or suitcase with plenty of room to spare. Ideas for materials: Sketchbook, watercolors, Water Soluble Graphite Disc, sketch and wash pencils, art pens, compact sculpting set, markers, crayons, colored pencils, coloring book, journal, scissors/craft supplies, etc. Project Ideas: paint, draw, art journaling, poetry, crafts, adult coloring, etc.
This is not an art class. This is a non-therapeutic art activity. These meetings are not therapy and are not art therapy.

Soul Shop for Leaders is a one-day workshop by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to develop soul-safe communities by equipping participants to address suicide as a regular aspect of their life and work. This workshop is designed for faith community leaders (both paid and lay/volunteers), clergy, Church staff, lay pastors, faith-based clinicians, Church members, leaders in every sector throughout the community, and community members at large.
Many people go to their religious leaders when they are struggling with the loss of a loved one by suicide or if they may be having thoughts of suicide. Soul Shop is a one-day training workshop designed to equip clergy, staff, lay pastors, faith-based clinicians, and anyone interested in saving lives with the resources and guidance they need to foster hope and healing in their community.
The goal of this workshop is to familiarize participants with the incidence and impact of suicide on their faith communities and train them to address issues related to suicide. After the training, the participants will be able to address issues related to mental health and suicide prevention as a regular aspect of their life and work. Overall, the workshop will lead to an ongoing, strategic effort to shift the way that faith communities address and support those who may be struggling with suicide loss or thoughts of suicide.
AFSP is a national voluntary health organization, established in 1987, that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education, and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. I hope to see you there! Please feel free to share this e-mail and share this flyer. Spread the word to save lives. Thank you.
